I was never the kind to be really hooked on to trying out various sorts of mixed drinks at parties but it was only when I met this really interesting personality at an elite do, I realized there’s more to drinking than just being sozzled! This particular person introduced me to a variety of ways of combining different types of ingredients in order to concoct some of the most amazing drinks! Well, he sure seemed to have a knack of making these himself with great ease! This was when I finally did get my chance to taste some of the most interesting and intoxicating mixed drinks ever! Mojito:
Ummm…heavenly! Mojito is a kind of a cocktail that has essentially five ingredients which includes rum, carbonated water, lime, sugar and mint. This mixed drink was first concocted in Cuba. Over the years, one can see many variations of this classy drink in different parts of the world.
Bloody Mary:
This very popular cocktail is a fine blend of many ingredients that gives it the distinct taste! A classic Bloody Mary contains vodka with some tomato juice and also a combination of other ingredients that lend it a unique touch. Lemon juice, Tabasco sauce, Worcestershire sauce along with a dash of salt is added to this drink. The name has been given due to the reddish brown color of the drink. However, there have been many disputes regarding the same.
Screwdiver:
This interesting mixed drink was concocted in the early 1950s. This drink consists of a mixture of orange juice and vodka. Today, there are many variations available of this basic cocktail.
Piña colada:
Too good to resist! That’s how I would best describe Piña Colada. This drink is an amazing combination of rum and coconut cream. Add some pineapple juice and ice to this and your Piña Colada would be ready to be served! A word of caution…it’s very addictive!
Margarita:
Whether served on the rocks or shaken with ice, Margarita can bewitch you to go in for more rounds of this drink! Essentially, Margarita’s are made of tequilla, which is blended with lemon juice. While serving, one can notice the presence of salt on the rim of the glass. Certain bartenders also use egg white to increase the frothiness of the drink. The clear liquid obtained from young coconuts, in its fresh form, is known as coconut water. Coconut water is one of the common beverages in tropical countries. It possesses many qualities, which make it a preferred drink. Doctors too recommend drinking coconut water to patients. Coconut water is even packaged for sale in countries like Costa Rica. The flavor of coconut water changes according to the region. While the water obtained from Brazilian coconuts is tasteless, the Indian coconuts produce water that is sweet in taste.
